Beef bacon update

Here's a photo of finished beef bacon slices...

Slightly different texture and flavor than pork bacon. Still good.

However...

This was a decent grade of beef, and the meat there was was well-marbled. Most of the beef belly was pure fat, though. At a cost of over $10 a pound, it was an interesting experiment, but I'd just as soon stick to pork belly for bacon.

Looks good. I've wanted to try beef bacon but haven't seen beef belly around here.

Like I said, I don't think it's better than pork bacon, but it is much more expensive than pork bacon. It's good for those who can't, or won't eat pork.

I really like beef bacon. You can't pretend it is pork bacon but it's is just as good with it's own flavour.
