Howdy! I ordered my Over Under the other day...just got my email confirmation today. It's loaded on the wagon and headin out west! I'll start a new post once she arrives, and I season her up and smoke her out!

Thank you Smitty, Blu, and all you other Farkers on here...you made pullin the trigger on this smoker, a no brainer!

Congrats and looking forward to your follow up post.

Hey everybody. I was at Academy today and got super excited when I saw the Over & Under. It reminded me of The Good One but it's half the cost. I own two Weber Kettles 22"/26.75" and a Pit Barrel Cooker. Looking to make the leap to a stick burner. I've had my eye on a Horizon sold down the road at Bass Pro but the sticker price makes me wary. The Over & Under is $600 and seems to be built solid. I have read through most of the posts in this thread but didn't have time to cover two years. I will add thermometers for sure, but now that you've all had time to play with this thing my ultimate questions are: Worth it? What additional mods should I make? Should I just keep saving for a Horizon?

Love the idea of the Over & Under. Love the look of it and the price is about right. Love to load my wood from the rear. What say you Barbecue Brethren? Should the trigger be pulled?

Also, how do I add a pic and change the quote on my profile. I would NEVER use MatchLight. The site doesn't have a clear way to do this.

Yep, Yep and Yep. Only Mod it really needs is the firegrate for ash to fall better - either drill holes between the slots or add more slots or cut out the center and add expanded metal. ... Bludawg did tackweld his in a few places and added a lip to the fire box cleanout door so he could Snuff out fires.

Well?

So I have now read this entire thread. Got a bonus from work, and want a stick burner.

I have a Rec Tec pellet grill that I love, but also want a "traditional" stick burner. I am deciding on this one or the Flowmaster O/U.

I love stick burning. More than I thought I would, actually.

I don't cook enough volume at one time to justify a LSG or Shirley, but this OC O&A looks perfect. I was looking at the Brazos, but this O&A is a great design.

I'm thinking in the spring unless some deal surfaces

How often are you adding to this unit to keep temps pretty constant? This size / configuration is great, but just wondering if a heavier using would mean less fire tending.

This unit is pretty efficient looking
