I booked a trip to Hawaii recently and thought I'd give a huli huli chicken a try before experiencing the real deal. Marinated overnight and then spun it on my weber genesis with a foil pack of apple on the side @400 degrees. Took half the marinade and reduced it to a thicker sauce and used the other have to baste the chicken every 5 minutes. Probed 178ish at 45minutes. I also made a Hawaiian version of macaroni salad and some steamed rice.
I didn't plan on posting the cook so no action shots. I did just buy a new lens for my camera so I thought I'd post the finished product. Took some shots with different aperture settings to see the difference. Such a newbie with this camera stuff.

Turned out really good. Chicken was perfect and I liked the sweet Hawaiian bbq sauce taste. I'd make more reduced sauce next time as that was was delish!
Thanks for lookin!
