did you add a little beer to the bbq sauce? my dad always used mauls and dumped a healthy splash of beer in it. ( come to think of it back then everything he did had a splash of beer in it. ) oh and beer also calms the large flare ups

How could a have not have mentioned beer. Its an integral part of the midwestern bbq style. Its a multi-tasker to say the least. Marinade, sauce thinner, fire suppressant, thirst quencher. We like our beer bad, lite, and in a can.

Please Smoke Ninja, stop posting those delicious photos!

Are sure? I have more.

Heres some coming off the grill. Becky said she want plain ole grilled chicken instead of Midwest Q

Mine plated.

Been working on my mac and cheese recipe

Beer has so many uses in the BBQ world, probably because it's almost always either in our off-hand or within reach.....off the shelf sauce looks to thick, well hey I'm holding a beer, that'll work.....ribs look like they could use a spritz but the spray bottle is inside, hey I'm holding a beer......my deck is on fire, thank god for beer.

This thread has made my day. Thanks for the laughs and the memories. I definitely would eat any of the chicken pictured. :clap2:

Back in the day there was no SBR, my pops would doctor up some Kraft BBQ sauce and go to town. Chicken, Kraft sauce, KBB, Lighter fluid and some Lone Star Beers. Oh, forgot to mention, my pops is from Texas. This isn't unique to the upper midwest at all.

Sorry to burst your bubble, taint nothing unique about midwest grilling/BBQ.
