How Many Bottles of Sauce Do you Have?

Great summary Madman! I hope to run into a few of those that i haven't tried yet.

You can also join the "Trading Post" forum (which you have) and you get some great sauces/rubs in a mail trade. That is how I found some of these, and the good ones, I continue to order on-line by the case and share them with friends and family.

It's great to try something totally different from another part of the country sometimes.

I have a bottle of SBR for when my daughter visits and a bottle of Stubbs for me and that will last me a year. I have all the Franklin sauces but they are all too thin/runny for me to use.

MadMan...appreciate the reminder about the Rudy's sauce. I remember it being pretty good the one time I went there.

Stubb's has become my favorite. Originally used Maull's from Mo. "Don't baste your BBQ Maull it" but can't buy it in TX and don't want to order it.

Let's see...

Half a bottle of SBR original (blech)

Half a bottle of Stubbs original (nice base for my homemade concoctions)

Full bottle of Bullseye (nasty)

Mostly full bottle of Blues Hog Original (interesting, but way too sweet)

Half a bottle of Blues Hog Tennessee Red (great mixed with a dollop of original)

Some Trader Joe's Kansas City style (surprisingly not bad)

And a full bottle of Rufus Teague Blazin' Hot (love it!)

Missing is a bottle of Stubbs Sweet Heat.

No photo, but I have quite a few. At least 20 in the fridge and another 10 unopened. When I travel I usually buy 3-4 bottles of local sauce. I open it, try it and decide if it is worth re-buying. I found Colemans CHS sauce which is only available now at Piggly Wiggly in South Carolina that way.

I was thinking the other day that it would be neat to have a gathering and a sauce tasting. Everybody bring 10 sauces and a loaf of French bread. Cut off a piece of bread and dip it in a bowl of sauce. My wife can't eat sauce not on anything, but I have a pretty good idea just from a taste how it will turn out.

In the fridge-that I remember:
2 from Myron Mixon school
Colemans
2 different Head Country
2 different blues hog
3 local ones
3 from Tulsa
3 from Birmingham
2 from Florida
3 from N. Carolina

In the pantry:
2 more from MM school
more Colemans
another Head Country
Kraft cheap (been there a long time)
1 from N Carolina
sweet baby rays
couple more

Hi all, new to the site.. Funny, I just counted the other day. 7 unopened bottles, 2 open in the fridge. Handful of hot sauces, though they are not used nearly as frequently as the BBQ sauce. It is a collection that I have every intention of expanding.

WOW! You are either single or you spouse really loves you. Mine has given me two small shelves in the cabinet, I store my cases of sauce in the cupboard.

I think i have 3 or 4 in the fridge opened and then 40 or so bottles stored in or around the kitchen :)

Rubs I have taken over the spice cabinet with though

Funny thing us I do not use sauce for cooking, I only serve several choices on the side for dipping.

So I keep a small variety on hand... This is normal for my sauce cabinet..... Rubs in the cabinet to the right.

I the new guy here and just getting into Q'ing so I don't have many BBQ sauces, but my collection of hot sauces has over 300 different bottles.

I store them in a glass front beverage refrigerator. Have a picture, will try to figure out how to post ( it will be my first ) tonight.

Excluding hot sauces, which I have a ton of, I have one bottle of BBQ sauce. That would be Stubbs original. I use it as a quick backup sauce if I don't have any homemade around..:thumb:

I usually have a few kinds of Sweet Baby Rays on hand, one spicy and one sweet. Otherwise a few different hot sauces and that's about it. We know what we like and we use it until it's gone, then we get more.

Something like this would get me kicked out of the house. Wow.

I have a box from a ream of paper stashed in the pantry (~16 bottles?).

I really like the cabinet in Bob's pic. That's how it should be.

I have all kinds of stuff, a minimum of probably 60~70 bottles......really need to start using it in more ways...........

"Sauce" is a bit mis-leading in this camp though......many of them are "marinade" type things......much more often than sauce or finishing / dipping sauce, they get strained & injected, so it's an odd concept for me to call it just a sauce.....

World Harbors has a great variety of items that can be used as marinade, sauce as a finish, or sauce as a cooking sauce.......it's designed that way.....

Ordinary BBQ (tomato-based) stuff, I have a gallon of Big Ron's in the fridge & the wife makes up some home-canned bottles of the "Secret Family Recipe"

MadMan has a great idea......watch for the name brands to be on sale....$1 a bottle at Dollar Tree /.99 Store, etc......all the time.....
Some of my best BBQ tools have also come from those places......

I typically make and can/jar my own. BUT, I have a container of sauce from my new local BBQ Trailer in town (young guy making insanely good Q that doesn't need sauce but still goes together well with it) and it is hands down the best barbecue sauce I have ever had. I hope one day he will grow his business enough to bottle it and sell it. He knows I hoard what he gives me when I stop by and has started giving me a bit extra each time. So great.
