More even temps with the Shirley

I don't have a Shirley, but I have a reverse flow offset, and I always preheat the chimney with my weed torch for 5-10 minutes with the door open after I light my firebox.........mine draws very well with very little temp fluctuation if I do that.

I don't even use the weed burner on my fb for 5 minutes. That exhaust chimney must be glowing red.
