Got the Guru for the WSM. One source says to point adapter vent straight down, another tells to point it to the side. Anyone know the best way to install this piece? Thanks.

I ran mine straight down and it worked great. All of the installations I have seen were also straight down.

I have one of each. I put mine straight down. I bought a used one and it was pointed to the side. The seller said it was kicking up ash. I kept it to the side and they both work fine for me.

I have mine pointing down but it's pointing very close to the charcoal grate is that normal? When I've used it in the past it holds temperature well but I've always thought it looked a little odd.
