G'Day Bruces 
Most people know I recently moved from Melbourne up to Queensland. I've been an interesting 3 months. 2 weeks ago I moved to a different house more in line with my work and social needs.
BUT one of the major issues discovered in getting here was finding decent meat supplies. Things are very different here in Queensland. Up here there is a lot of beef, but it's not much cheaper than down in Melbourne. There is very little lamb. I can't get the cuts I usually get and when I have found them, they are double the price. Pork is almost always double the price and chicken is about the same.
So much to my surprise the other day a Google search led me to this place in a suburb over from my new digs.
They had a decent sized offset out the front.
And it was running at temp.
Inside was another reverse flow offset. Looked well made but no brand on it that I could see, so locally fabricated most likely.
Right in the door a selection of rubs.
Some of the meat cabinets.
Lump charcoal:
Smoked Chicken for sale, no doubt from the big offset out the front.
Decent display of sauces and rubs and other stuff:
Some brisket:
Proof they don't know everything. Baby backs labelled as St.Louis Spares:
Roasting Pork. Seems to be some shoulders, some legs. Whatever. This is pretty cheap.
More Rubs etc.
Genuine Offset smoked ham:
Very expensive meat aging locker.
The business end: Kamado Joe's and some Masterbuilt Smokers.
Nosebleed expensive though.
I will only be buying meat from these blokes.
In any case, a great find. Finally some reasonably priced options but you still have to pick and choose. The place was really busy. Going back there today to buy some sausages, of all things!
Now I have to get a smoker I can afford before getting back in the game.
