Me and my boys squeezed in a few hours of trout fishing on opening day here in PA, between their work schedules. In our brief time at the lake we were able to land 5 nice sized trout, and a few others got away.

I decided to hot smoke them in a pan with butter, lemon, onions, garlic, S & P, on the Weber 26 with some cherry wood. I'm not a seasoned trout cooker, but they turned out pretty good with a nice little hint of smoke.

Thanks for looking!!!

Opening day of PA trout season was always pretty special to me. Lots of good memories. Looks like y'all had a decent day and ate well to boot!

I wish I coulda been there.

Most times opening day can be crazy, and I actually prefer fishing without a crowd, but it's kind of a tradition. They were predicting bad weather, so crowds were down. Good thing was weather was great in the morning when we had time to fish. Afternoon was another story...

I haven't been trout fishing in a long while. That makes me want to pack up and go. Congrats on the catch and nice job on the cook!
