I tried them once at a friend's cookout. Didn't care for them. The oreo soaked up all the grease from the bacon and made it soggy. Maybe he cooked them wrong I'm not sure I'd try them again.

I did them last fall. It's a party trick you need to try at least once. They're weird, but you'll want another one if it's there, BUT you'll never crave one, just weird. Maybe an annual thing you do for the heck of it. I have bacon and oreos in the house regularly - rarely (well actually never) do I have the urge to combine and smoke them.

The oreo and stuff do get soft, that's the way it is - nothing is "wrong" with it or the way it was cooked.
