Victorinox knife

How did nobody take off a finger in all the handling?!
For the money there is NO better knife out there. And I'd put them up against knives costing 10 times as much. My next purchase will be one of their scimitar versions.

Oh, I dunno about that

Damascus steel with a VG-10 core at a fraction of the price of what you'd usually pay for that kind of quality blade. The factory edge isn't exactly superb, but with a bit of love these things are like frikkin lightsabers. I've had the santoku for about 6 months and I love it

Victorinox are good value for money but let's not get carried away.
Any good design in VG -10 steel is ten times better than Victorinox simply because of the superior steel.
Victorinox use a brittle hardened steel.

Most knives I've seen people complain about just aren't sharpened properly.

Yep. A knife is 90% sharpening, 10% steel. I've got a £10 Chinese cleaver that I'd put up against pretty much anything for sharpness, but it sure didn't start off that way
