Q for the cause. I'm in :)

Seven day ‘cue salute

Some cities have Restaurant Week. We have Barbecue Week. This July, TMBBQ will be hosting the second annual Texas Barbecue Week. During this week-long celebration of our culinary heritage, Texans everywhere can visit participating barbecue joints to enjoy a featured “Texas Barbecue Week plate.” It’s a way to support the folks who are working hard to preserve the barbecue tradition—and to eat some of the state’s best smoked meat.

Last year more than 50 BBQ joints took part in the first ever state-wide Texas Barbecue Week presented by TMBBQ and Shiner Beers. During this week-long celebration of our culinary heritage, Texans everywhere were invited to visit the participating joints featured in our June issue to enjoy an exclusive Texas Barbecue Week Plate. Over $10,000 was raised to benefit Foodways Texas, which preserves the diverse food traditions of Texas.

I was at Hutchins for dinner last night (AYCE of course). A friend of mine was driving through on his way home from Austin to Columbus OH and needed to experience Texas BBQ. He was very impressed as was his 12 year old daughter. :-D

Hutchins is the real deal. Next time you are there, ask for the bacon wrapped jalapenos and ask them to slice you burnt ends...Nuts!

I imagine everytime Chris walks into Hutchins it is like Norm from Cheers....

I don't remember seeing bacon japs on the menu at Hutchins. Not that I was looking either.

I'll make sure and ask for them along with my usual fatty brisket AYCE!

Yeah, something like that. :thumb::laugh:

I'm thinking I will take the boys next week while the wife is in Pittsburgh. It's always fun to supplement self prepared BBQ with restaurant BBQ when having a boys weekend. My wife said to me the other day... "the boys said last time I went home all you did was cook BBQ, go to BBQ joints and get pizza for takeout." Pretty much on all accounts. :loco::crazy::doh:
