Comp season in full swing down here in Fla, we did our 4th comp of season so far ....were ROLLING ! We came in 3rd place overall this weekend at Smoke on the Water BBQ comp back yard division winterhaven Fla. We took 5th chicken , 2nd ribs , 2nd pork , 11th brisket. Here story on brisket the event organizer thought be "fun" to shake up turn ins. So this comp brisket turned in 1st ! then pork , chick, last was ribs.

So we all know rule of thumb is brisket needs be flavor packed cause normally its last meat tasted, well we didn't even think to compensate for that we just ran our flavor profile as normal. Needless to say it hit little hard right out gate , so got few salty comments dropped us a little in brisket. But overall was good experience with the shake up time line learned something new , like always. thanks for looking onto the next comp .....

Congrats on your continued strong finishes. My first comp is the first weekend in March, so I am certainly hoping the cold weather is way behind us by then.
