Smokin in Steele, Owatonna, MN June 2-3, 2017 Early Bird Discount

The 10th Annual Smokin in Steele , organized by Knights of Columbus for the

benefit of Special Olympics, is on June 2 and 3 for 2017.

We have an offer to save some money for teams that already know they

want to be here this year. It is a double discount :

For your paid entry fee of $250 ( regular price is $280) by February 20 th

you get: the site of your choice, electricity - 20 or 30 amp, and all 4

categories.

In addition you get a free entry in our ancillary category of Anything Butt -

a $25 value.

About electricity - while 30 amp is not extra, there are a limited number

of those outlets available. Better speak for yours early.

Again this year we will have all our usual activities. The Steak Competition

was a good hit last year, so we are doing it again. As always there will be

a full slate of 12 award winning blues bands from all over.

I sure wish this one and Huron, SD didn't land on same weekend.

Our contest is the weekend after Memorial Day, so most years we are the first
weekend of June. Occasionally due to how Memorial Day falls, we are the last weekend
of May. When that happens we don't wind up on the same weekend as Huron.

Our position on the calendar now falls nicely into the spring pattern of nearby Minnesota
and Iowa contests. So moving is not an option for us in the short season of warm
weather up here.

Sorry you have to make a choice and can't do both contests.

On the other hand, am thankful that this is the only heads up conflict we have.
Other parts of the country have multiple contests within a tank of gas every weekend.

So, we are just happy to have you come whenever you choose to do so.

I am sure you could make your wishes known to them.

Huron is a good contest, maybe they have a compelling reason to be on the weekend

they choose.

No matter what you do, can't keep everybody happy all the time.

And I know it is hard to have to make a choice when you are in between us.

We are just happy as we can be with those teams who decide they want to be

in Owatonna for Smokin in Steele.
