Our 10th annual Smokin in Steele organized by Council 945 Knights of Columbus for the benefit of our local Special Olympics is coming up fast.

Returning for a second year is a SCA sanctioned Steak Cookoff with $1000 to
the winner. With rib eyes donated by Fareway Foods.

Already our Backyard contest is filling fast. Details of the Fareway Food
Challenge money are included in the application. The Challenge is in addition to our payout of 100% of the entry fees.

Our Kids Q returns again with no registration fees, but cash prizes for
first, second , and third in both age categories thanks to Quetopia, Dipstix,
and Vaughn Wood.

There is still room for teams in our KCBS sanctioned contest. We are a $10,000 contest with payouts for top 5 overall (payout for 3rd,4th, and 5th is new this year) plus top 10 in each category. Besides money, there will be our
coveted laser etched black granite plaques.

Judges - sorry, we are beyond full.

We are a full festival weekend with 13 Blues Bands and activities for the whole family. Details and forms at www.smokininsteele.com

In the past we have been fertile ground for Iowa teams venturing north with good success. And we welcome them. But so far this year we only have 3 Iowa teams registered. So Minnesota, Wisconsin, Nebraska, Kansas are you
ready to step up?

There is still time to come and be part of the action and fun. But don't delay.

Yes, Justin is one of those really strong Iowa teams.

Kids Q age groups: 7-10 cook hamburger 11-14 cook steak and we provide the meat.
Oh, there are no rules on garnish, but bring your own. We provide the grill and charcoal will be lit and distributed by our Owatonna Fire Department.
