Like the others have said...cheap offsets are fun but man are they a lot of work. I started with one like a lot of others here....then went to a WSM...then to a Caldera Tall Boy...and so on...It really depends on how you like to cook and how you like your BBQ. After all of the cookers I have used I finally have settle into a Good One Smoker. Air flow benefits of an offset but the temperature control and consistency of a vertical. That is what worked for me which might not work for others. All of the offsets listed above are really good cookers but going with a COS like stated above might be a good start to see if it's something you like.
