I haven't seen or heard of this yet, so if it's old news, I apologize

Saw this video on youtube...

Quite a bit of design improvements including a true collector, extended smoke stack, completely removable baffle plates and firebox grates and what appears to be a fully insulated firebox...I think it's the size of the pecos or wrangler with 1/4" steel all around.

This is ~$2500 to my door....a bit tempting....

I was looking at this the other day, my only concern is the door opening, seems like an odd choice vs a standard door with a flange.

Common problem with OC pits is the cook chamber door springs when they cut it out of the pipe. When the pipe is formed and they join the edges, it creates tension in the steel. When they cut the door out the tension is released.

I put clamps on the bottom corners of my Brazos door along with RTV sealant to close up what was at least a 1/2" gap. It was causing the door side of the cooking grate to run cool.

It looks to me they're trying to avoid that issue. It doesn't appear that the door is cut from the same pipe.

Sonny Moberg explains the door springing issue here

BTW, I like what he's done with a deflector plate to block radiant heat, while having an opening large enough for most of the heat to go directly to the top of the smoker. Not sure though, about the stack without a collector.

i'm investigating a new smoker for myself, someone suggested https://bluesmokesmokers.com/# and they seems like a pretty decent bargain and maybe better built smoker for a bit less cash (not sure on shipping costs tho). an option to consider i reckon.

This looks like a cool little smoker, but I would take a Blue Smoke Smoker all day long over this based on the price.

I agree, the Blue Smoke is the all time leader in the budget smoker category. I tried to order one last year but the shipping was too much, about $1.00 per mile I was quoted which equaled $1750 to New Hampshire. Hopefully as shipping rates drop they can get the shipping cost to a more reasonable rate.

I think, for me, it’s not as economical as a Blue smoke. Assuming freight is relatively same price, I’d rather get the larger one (blue smoke). Just wish OC sold on the west coast.

That’s where I was in my search, nothing is sold in the North East so whatever I wanted needed to be shipped. The Brazos would have been $1900 delivered, the Blue Smoke would have been $3800, I looked for almost two years but couldn’t pull the trigger. Eventually I found a used Shirley semi local to me so I pulled the trigger & couldn’t be happier. I still wonder how the direct pits I looked at would be vs what I have but it is what it is. In the end I couldn’t justify paying almost $2,000 for a $1200 pit because of shipping.

I wonder if they will ship to store to save on shipping? Not showing as an option, but might be worth asking a manager at your local store.
