First Prime Rib for family Christmas

I have two words…

Hubba…Hubba!

And some more words…that looks fantastic! I’ve got 3 full, seven bone cuts, about 18/19# each. Got them when they were on sale some time ago. Now I’m gonna have to get one out.
Very nicely done!

Local grocer is showing an 18 lb. bone-in rib roast as $125, marked down from $266

If only I had a freezer.

Reverse sear is definitely the way to go with a rib roast. I'm planning one for Christmas Day.

Looks great, Jeff! :thumb:

Super job Jeff especially for your first attempt. I've never reverse seared a prime rib out of fear that I'd ruin it given my high failure rate with reverse searing rib eyes and over shooting the desired doneness looking for that just perfect crust.

Mighty fine prime rib roast there!

Haven't done one of these in a while and never with compound butter rubbed on it. Thanks for a new idea.
