Why would you use that to grill a steak now I have to go buy a phone get app turn it on then go inside the house and watch my phone instead of watching my steak outside for about 10 minutes I must b missing something

I reckon you are missing something.

It's more for the longer cooks where you may want to monitor temps without constantly going outside or lifting the lid.

next generation of bluetooth will be available in 2 to 6 months according to media.
Its effective distance will be 3 times longer than last generation.
iGrill claims 150' feet. But Amazon feedbacks say 15' feet.
45' feet shall be guaranteed in latest generation
Let's wait and see.
