I need more info on the cheesecake please.

I used Paula Deen's pumpkin cheesecake recipe just by googling pumpkin cheesecake. It should be the top or second recipe that displays. As thick as it was they were calling for 1 hour at 350 but at 350 on my pellet grill the edges were starting to set and the center was still soup. It took probably 2 hours and 15 minutes total. Being a first time I did not know how the pan would react but I should have rotated the pan every 30-40 minutes because one side got more done almost burned compared to the other side.

Thanks. How about the smokey flavor for cheesecake - better than the plain old oven?

To be completely honest with you anything above 275-300 on the pellet grill there is absolutely no smoke flavor what so ever. That is one thing the wife is happy about because she is not a fan of my smoked food so it makes her happy to not taste smoke. Even on my MOINK balls and Tri-tip you don't taste a lot of smoke but you have a great smoke ring.

Personally I would love to taste more smoky flavor in my meat. I have bought a smoke tube but have yet to try it, just waiting for a long cook before I use it because the one I have will smoke for 4 hours so doesn't do much good to use it for a 2 hour rib cook before wrapping.

Please accept this as yet another entry to the vets/noobs TD!

Tonight was supposed to be leftover tri-tip, but...

So, on my way home I picked up ANOTHER Hatch chile and cheese stuffed tenderloin for tomorrow and to make myself feel better, I thought I needed a CAB Prime ribeye for tonight :becky:

Decided that asparagus was the correct veggie to pair with it and went on my way...

The beverage for tonight is a Kentucky Boubon Barrel Ale (8.2% ABV and only 15 IBU, Keith, so back off! :boink:)...

The 5 spice didn't really work well on the asparagus but damn was that steak spot-on!

The only knock on the steak is it seems they cut off the cap and I didn't really notice until it was on the grill....and that's my favorite part!

throwdown entry for team noob

Ok, this is my first throwdown entry ever...so here goes. I had a leftover 7lb pork shoulder in the deep freeze and we are planning on moving in the next two weeks....so a backyard bbq with our neighbors was in order started the 22.5 OTG about 11:30 am with kingsford blue bag

fast forward 6 hours in the OTG with applewood + hickory chunks and 1 hour wrapped in towels and this beauty emerged

And just to use the last bit of heat from the coals, threw on a pan on baked beans with a bit o bacon and left over rub thrown in plus all the remaining soaked chips and chunks. This was the result and please use this pic as my polling pic!!!
