Cheap Steaks, Top Sirloin or Flat Iron

Another vote for flat iron. Not a sirloin fan. Too lean and chewy at comparable quality levels.

So I bought a couple packs of the Flat Iron Steaks and got my BBQ Grill Dome Deluxe Smoker started and added a chunk of mesquite.

They were a little beyond medium and my wife and I quickly demolished them and I forgot take a photo.

Both are on sale here for $4.88lb. so I figure I'd get some for a rainy day.

Which do you prefer and why?

Flat iron, by far the easiest to get done just right - consistent and without much toughness.

Too bad it's getting hard to find around here.

Flat iron vs top sirloin at the same price? Thats a no brainer. Flat iron all day , everyday.

I cant even get flat iron for less then 7.99/lb even when Ribeye and porterhouse are on sale for 5.99/lb
