BBQ Associations "Team Of The Year" races...

Eric Mendell put this together for the NWBBQS...

Eric's NW BBQ Power Rankings

Power Ranking Calculations:
•Only Top 20 finishes earn any points. First place in a meat category receives 20 pts and the points decrease to 20th place earning 1 pt. All the rest 0 pts.
• Bonus points based on competition size. A first place against 30 teams is more impressive than 1st against 10 teams. Bonus points start at events with 20 plus teams. Events with 21-25 teams earn 1 bonus point, 26-30 teams earns 2 bonus points and so on.
• Must compete in at least 2 events to be listed in the power rankings. In order to earn a final power rank teams must compete in 10% of events (rounded up) listed on combined calendar on this site.
• Event must have 10 teams or more competing to be counted in power rank calculations.
• Overall finish points earned for 1st place (GC) = 100 pts decreasing by 5 pts per spot to 20th place earning 5 pts.
• Only counted PNWBA & KCBS in NW using the combined calendar on NWBBQS forum. Contests in WA, OR, ID, MT, BC, Alberta.

Think its great for us new teams...

The regional TOYs are very motivating for at least us as a new team for sure. While we may not compete often or well enough to win anything, its nice to get out of the 1000s place for sure;-) Love the idea of different ones being set-up in different ways, only real way to see what people end up liking.
