I got 12-13 years of cooking out of an OK Joe Longhorn I had bought at Academy. I think they were slightly thicker then, than the current Longhorn or pecos, but still a moderate priced pit that made a hell of a lot of really good Barbecue. I got my upgrade second hand from FB Marketplace. If you're on a budget, don't be afraid to check the used market. I picked up a 210 gallon Franklin clone all 1/4 inch steel, except the inner of the double walled firebox. It's made out of pipe casing that's over an inch thick. Dude was asking $800 I offered $700 and he took it. Deals are out there if you watch and are patient.
