2021-2022 Texas HSBBQ State Championship in Round Rock TX

This past Saturday Texas HS BBQ held the State Championship at Dell Diamond in Round Rock TX. 85 High School teams from all over the great State of Texas competed for bragging rights in the final competition after competing in some of the 10 regional state qualifiers held around the state. My team Prosper Pitmasters, mentored by Jack Cashman of Cashman Q and myself, had a call for 2nd in Brisket and won 12th overall!
Very proud of the team and their coach, Brett Clay Poole of Culinary Arts, at Prosper High School.

Ask around and see if your high school would like to start competing! It is very rewarding to work with these young people and see the drive they have to compete at this level. Cooking in five categories.

No. It is not. I don’t believe UIL has anything like this.
This is a great great organization that’s all about the kids.
