First butt cook on my new Grill Dome

Had the chance this weekend to toss a couple butts and a hog shoulder on my new Grill Dome kamado. The cook went really well and the meat came out super tender and bursting with flavor. Nice bark too. The butts were rubbed down with Oakridge BBQ rubs and the end product was epic pulled pork...

    Comparing Kamados

With the holidays fast approaching, I can't say I'm in the market for a new cooker today, but after tax time I'm looking to seriously indulge my jonze for a kamado cooker. I'm leaning towards Kamado Joe as a high-quality but mid-range price option. Opinions? Counter-points? Initial brand...

The long-awaited Imperial Kamado restoration project :)

Ok. As I wrote in the Cattle call thread I received my Imperial Kamado from my folks a few years ago. They bought it from a relative of ours in the mid/late 80’s who was importing goods from Japan at the time. The pot was in heavy use for the first 15 years, but after my parents moved to a...

    Can this kamado be saved?

There's a damaged old kamado possibly available cheap. I could use some advice. I have only seen photos so far, but it appears that pieces broke out of the bottom of the unit (the portion including the draft vent) but those pieces have been saved. If the pieces are still available, can this...

    Hello from Harvest, Alabama

Just wanted to stop in and say hello. I have had a large charcoal grill for a long time and buy a side of beef every year. The beef quality has always been good but my cooking technique has left the end product hit or miss. I started reading some recently and trying some new things and the...
