My crew brought Chicago to me!

I’ve wanted to order Lou Malnati‘s for a while but would never pull the trigger.

My crew surprised me at Christmas with 6 pies so we could do a pizza party that we could all get a taste including my extend kids! However I couldn’t wait for everyone, I had to have a sausage pizza!

Really good but really different from the bar pies and cracker crust we have around here. I’m ready for the party so I can try the pepperoni!

As always thanks for lookin!

Lou's was always my favorite when I lived there. Curious how the shipped version compares to getting it locally.

What I can't stand is "Chicago style" pizza that has 1" thick crust. That's not Chicago style to me.

Nooo this crust was thin and crispy!

Instructions were to take the frozen pie out and wipe the pan down with oil, place the pie back in the pan and bake. Crust was excellent!

Lou's is where we take out of town visitors to when they say they want to try "Chicago Pizza".

We normally eat tavern style thin crust. But it is pretty good pizza.

Who is "we" suburbanite? :caked:

Malnati's is good. Eat it with a fork and knife. Who gives a shart?

I usually get JB Albertos. It *IS* the third best in Chicago.

Correct, Lou's is not "Chicago Style", which, like the drag it through the garden hot dog, sucks and is mostly tourist food.

Lou Malnati's does a "keto" pizza that has no crust at all and the dough layer is removed so you start with the large sausage "disk" as the base.

It's pretty good, but after two pieces, its too much sausage for me.

Hey, Hey, Hey!!! I resemble that remark! But I did grow up in Chicago. :p But yep, I have no problem with Chicago Deep Dish, just not something I eat on a regular basis.

No no - I didn't mean Lou's pizza. I'm familiar with it. I meant outside of Chicago. Like here - we don't have good pizza. It's either a cracker with ketchup trying to be NY or it's all crust, trying to be Chicago and it's all terrible.

We don't have good BBQ either, but I'll save that rant for another day :tape:

Hahaha... I remember years ago my brother, Bubba, moved down to Little Rock. Probably mid to late 80's. They ordered a sausage pizza one time and they got breakfast sausage! :pound: It took quite a while before the pizza joints down there discovered Itialian sausage.

I don't know what a crew is but we order a case of 6 a couple times a year, sometimes Lou's, sometimes Giordano's

I have never had any with 1" thick crust
