Along ass time ago I bought a Globe... whatever with no blade shield or face plate. Cost to replace those things? $300. So.. it sat

Lately of course, on my way towards an Italian Beef/Guadamalan Birria style sandwich or taco... i decided the best meat for this was a low grade rib eye lipon I can get consistently for $4.14 a lb.

Thus... I finally got one. $200. Every part on it.

Hey y'alllll! Is that the Last Supper?

If anyone could use a slicer every way except for right side up, I knew it would be you Donnie!

Does this one have enamel on it or is that paint? I have a Globe 75 that is still working great.

I found this site for parts if you need it.

there are two. the first one, off white, is from the late 1940s and i forget the model. i have not used it. like i said... the part missing costs more than the newer one (685) i got.

the second one has no paint, that is either polished aluminum or stainless or chrome u see... even the motor cover.

This is the company, the only one, that had my part. Thus... 7 years ago, and now, the cost of buying those parts (tie rod $20, knife gaurd $200, and center plate - I called, its $300) would be $520. Then the tranny has too much play in it. You can get a new one all day at $750. So... I just bought this new one that works perfectly for $200. But I did look for like 6 years.

Pictures of my Globe 75. I broke the weight on my sled that holds the meat down. Hope to get one by the end of summer. You did get a great deal on the "new" slicer.
