I still want to see these fried Pig Shots. I didn't think Pig Shots could be improved upon...

I don't know if anyone got a pic of them. All I know is that once we sent a plate of them out none came back!!
Frognot made them and he tried cooking a few in my MiniMAX. But the bacon never would crisp up.
So I said what the hell, let's deep fry them! And that's how it happened!
And yes they were outstanding!!

Thanks for the pix! One of these days I'd love to make it out there for one of these.

For the folks who haven't been to a Bash - just go, even if it involves a little traveling and effort. I guarantee it's worth it. People who enjoy outdoor cooking are a certain type, namely friendly and fun to hang out with. No need to even mention the food - we all know how good that is - you won't be eating better anywhere.

I talked to Frogmot during the North Texas Bash last weekend about the Bashes in SoCal. Please let us know when the other Bashes will be held.

We had 3 rounds of spot on ribs this year!!
Nicely done boys!!

And yes Smitty's meatloaf was killer.
I'm afraid he can not go to a bash without it. Just like the Beans!!

I'm jealous!!!! What a time you guys and gals had I seriously hope and .... no... I know I will make one of these bashes... y'all are what the brethren are all about..... kudos to all of y'all.....:)

You really need to make it to the next one. I need some help with my SF. I keep feeding it sticks but I never see any smoke coming out of the exhaust. I'm sure it's user error. :heh:

Hey all, had a great time and made it home to the farm safe and sound. It was great to see old friends and meet new ones. Big shout out to Hotch & Shelly for the heavy lifting to make it happen and all the outstanding finger food! All the food was outstanding and there was sure no shortage. Got a great assortment of TX sausages, compliments of PJTexas that will be a hit at the SC Bash this coming weekend. Even managed to hang around and hit the pulled pork AG76 did, man he could school some of us eastern pig cookers on cooking some butts and that jalapeno slaw was killer; how about a recipe????

Glad you liked it. It is the Cock of the Walk Cole Slaw Recipe posted on here a long time ago. See Post No. 15 in the following linked thread:

I love it. I had the real thing back in 1980 when I was working on a job in Natchez, Mississippi. I had the cole slaw at the Cock of the Walk catfish restaurant down on the Mississippi River in the Under the Hill area. Best I ever had.

If Texas A&M played football as well as you cooked at the Bash, they would win the national championship!
