Looks good! How'd you like the grilled romaine? I've done it before with evoo and salt/pepper. I bet it was awesome with the spice mixture you put on it.

Oh and what happened to Earl!? Looks like someone sprayed a long horn on him, poor guy.

The grilled romaine was really good! I have never had it and I'm pretty sure I will be doing it pretty often now.

Ain't NUTHIN' wrong with Earl, son! Hook 'em!!! \m/ :becky:

Cooking with the skilled hands of a surgeon !!

Pork-it's what's for dinner !!!

BTW, this Cattleman's Cowboy Coffee rub was better on the pork chop than it was on the ribeye I did the other day...and that is saying a lot! If you are looking for a versatile rub to buy, give this one a shot!

Gonna try it on some chicken later in the week...maybe.

My kinda meal. I love it when my wife goes out of town! Been married 30 years.... Grilled romaine is right at the top of our good food list. We like to do it spritzed with EVOO, Kosher salt and Parmesan dusted into the flat side. Grill the round side, flip it over, grill the flat side and then nail it with some parmesan. I use my torch and quickly brown up the parmesan. Then I remove from the freezer some red wine vinegar that I froze and scratched up with a fork to make snow. Carefully let it snow on the romaine. You will be happy. I think this was an Alton Brown deal. Don't remember.

Very impressive.

If my wife and kids were to leave town for I week Id probably just drink my dinner. And I probably wouldn't keep up on the housework either.

that said the romaine looks great, think I need to try Marty's way too.

That chop looks GREAT! I have to ask, what do you use to take your pictures? I swear I have lost points on TD's due to me and my iPhone...

yeah, that is an Alton Brown method. That was the first hit when I searched for grilled romaine, but I didn't have time to freeze the RWV before the meal, so I skipped it and the parmesan to get a good baseline on the flavor.

I'll try that when Tasha get back.

Thinking I will try it with Cattleman's Tuscan tonight....

These were all taken with my iPhone5. The key with using a camera phone is a steady hand and plenty of light. If one suffers, you can surely tell. Either it will be grainy or blurry.

I would have used my Canon T2i, but Tasha took that with her...

I did something very similar a few months ago when I had the house to myself. I cooked one of the top 5 best ribeyes I've ever had and washed it down with an "Austin Amber Ale" from Real Ale Brewing Company. That was a great time I had that day, just me, my music, my dogs and MY favorite food! I think every man needs days like that from time to time.
Don't need to tell you that though, it looks like your day was awesome too! Great picks!!!:thumb:

I sure wish more places would carry a variety of the Real Ale brews! Unless you go out of your way to find something else, you can usually only find Fireman's 4 and the sampler 6 pack...

Devil's Backbone and the Brown are great and 2 of my favorites, but harder to find. I don't think I have even seen the Amber up here...

I sure wish brewers would get over IPAs so there was more room on the shelf for brown and amber ales!!!!
