Music City BBQfest

Has anyone competed in this previously? I've been asked by a friend who lives there to come down and give it a go. The trouble I'm having is getting anyone connected to the competition to reply to the emails or phone calls I've placed. The check has been mailed, but I'm not at all comfortable with what I'm getting for communication.

I would greatly appreciate hearing from anyone who has done this competition for some info as to facilities and such.

Was it a smoothly run event? The lack of ANY replies from emails, phone, texts have me a bit concerned. These are simple logistical type questions about the layout and accessibility at the fairgrounds and I can't get a peep out of anyone.
