Knows what a fatty is.
I'm finishing up with my 20 inch offset build and have run into a little bit of a problem. I've attached the firebox to the cook chamber by welding the top seam of the football shape where they connect. Firebox is held securely in place with this weld.
Now, it's very difficult to get at the bottom seam of the football shape as there is a structural crossmember there to support the cook chamber. I'm assuming it HAS to be done but flipping a 600lb smoker is not an easy task without a crane or forklift.
Also: I've welded on the endcaps from the outside, is it necessary to go inside? Is it necessary to weld around the actual firebox/cook chamber cut openings (on the inside)?
