Picked up some hanger steaks from the grocery, they were too good looking to pass up.

My new helper was tuckered out, so he wasn't much help.

Enjoy!

Very nice. Wish I could find some here.

Another name for them?

Thanks! I don't think there's another name, but I could be wrong.

Hanging tender is the only other name I know them by. Where'd ya get them from? I've only been able to find them at Restaurant Depot untrimmed. Another good cut that someone told me about is flap meat/flap steak. They were from California and said he found them at Costco. I don't have a Costco membership anymore, so not sure if they have them here or not.

That looks great, KP. Love the color on that steak. I'm heading to Mariano's tomorrow!

Fantastic quality, and you absolutely nailed the cook!!
Is Ozzie pretending to be a chook?

Ok, I wasn't gonna be able to get past your helper pick, then I saw the meat pics. Both the helper and the beef look wonderful...

It all Looks terrific, your Helper is slack.
What is a wedge Salad?

Thanks! I don't think there's another name, but I could be wrong.

Another name is from France: "Onglet"

Not sure that is much help though.

Outstanding cook though! You need to get that new doggie into shape though. You can't have him slacking off when there is a grill to protect.

Cheers!

Bill

What is a wedge Salad?

Take a head of Iceberg lettuce and cut in quarters. On each salad plate, place 1 wedge of lettuce turned on its side. Pour blue cheese dressing on wedge. Sprinkle with diced tomatoes, chopped green onions, crumbled blue cheese and crumbled bacon.

^^^ yup, pretty much that. Although we skipped the scallions. The other key is to pop the lettuce in the freezer for a half hour or so to get it ice cold.

Love me some hanger steaks and those look fantastic. :thumb:

Hanger steak, hanger or hanging tender is all I've ever heard them be called. The butcher that I get mine from knows them as hanging tenders. He rarely saves them because nobody ask for them. I'm ok with that as it leaves more for me. :clap2:

Some great lookin' beef!!! Hope you saved some for me!
