Not at all, though you might want to finish them off over a hot flame. You can do this on pretty much any charcoal grill with an indirect setup. Smoke the steaks till they are about 15-20 degrees south of your desired temp, then finish them up on the hot side. This is actually the only way we do steaks and large beef cuts. The only caveat to this method is the steak has to be at least 1 inch thick or more.
