Hey Brethren

I'm supposed to be packing as we speak. T & I are
heading down to lunchmeat head quarters tonight and off
to Douglas after the coldcuts leave for school in the morning.
If any of you fellow brethren are coming to douglas please stop by
lunchmeat for a cherry at least, I have a fresh batch ready to
be opened in Douglas. I hope I get to meet some new BBQ friends
this week. I join the Brethren the week before we went to
Oinktoberfest, and the turned out wonderfully. Just in case that helped
push us over the top I'm back out here and I jhave been out here a lot
lately. So I can soak up some Brethren luck for our trip to Georgia.
A good time will be had by all and we might even get torn down, at
the very least we will be priming the pump real hard.

I have been reading a lot of the talk about the Jack & the Best of
the Best. I am truly honored lunchmeat was invited to the BoB as I'm
sure I would be about the Jack. I have seen the list of entries and the
list of teams is no list of wannabees. Just seeing lunchmeat on that list
blows me away. But I must say the City of Douglas Ga. really rolls out
the red carpet for the BBQ teams. The fact that the rules are different
then what any of us play by this helps level the playing field a little.
No garnish, eight pieces a true meat contest. Kell and his staff are
working hard to make this one of the biggest BBQ contests.
The Jack may always be the World Champingships, who ever wins the
Best of the Best will have earned it. Twenty years from now who knows,
but I think the BoB will rank up there with AR,MIM, Jack. J.M.H.O.
Time to get packing..

I should get there before dark on Wednesday . We should get a Brethren Picture for the Forum.

All I can say is.......GO GET 'EM!!.....and know that there a bunch of brothers that wish they were in your shoes this weekend!

Best of luck! Bring home a winner

I'll be pulling in late Weds night. See you all then!

Sully, good luck to you and the team!

By the way, what is the selection process for BoB? Curious...

Hey Ted,

The selection process is to invite the Top 10 Teams of the Year from each major BBQ society, KCBS, NEBS, MIM etc.

Thanks Chris, I didn't know that - so how come you aren't cooking (10th KCBS TOY). I am surprised this doesn't get more attention around here. This would seem to carry more prestige than the ARBBQ Invitational or the Jack.

Good luck to all that are cooking, especially The Slabs and 4 Men and a Pig...and all the brethern teams!!

Would love to cook it. Just couldnt swing Royal, Jack and Douglas in a one month period unless I wanted a divorce.

We already replied in the original thread about Douglas, but Chad and I will arrive tomorrow at about supper time. Staying at Super 8 in Douglas.

Looking forward to pit-bitchin' and dish-washing for Purple Turtle and visiting with all the other great teams there.

"Fatty Biscuits and Gravy" on Fri AM for about 15-20 or so is in the plan.
Also bringing a few Turkey Drummies for snacks, maybe Fri night or whenever.

See y'all there!
