Are any of the mass produced offset smokers worthy?

Stickburners are fuel hogs of the bbq world. No way around it. Although maybe one with an insulated firebox would be good? No idea I never use an offset. I do use a kamado and it by far my favorite smoker/grill/whatever. It does it all and it is very low on fuel consumption. I have a Vision Grills kamado and it supposed to be the cheap one and guess what it runs circles around all my other grills and smokers. I can only imagine how good a bge or a kamado joe or a primo is in comparison.

When you start getting to a thousand dollar level I have to recommend lookin for a good used rig.

ALOT people cannot get a stock burner to run.... That's why they want charcoal baskets etc...
You can get a kickass smoker used in the 1000-1200 dollar range...

Thanks for all the comments. I'm using my UDS currently and it's a fuel hog on all day cooks. It also seems to have a mind of its own some days.

I am lookin for a picture.... I use a good wheel barrel load of wood ...cooking ribs for 4 hours...two small splits every 30 min...pre heated.

I run an old Tejas stick burner.
