At least from salmonella.
"Faced with a crisis more than a decade ago in which thousands of people were sickened from salmonella in infected eggs, farmers in Britain began vaccinating their hens against the bacteria. That simple but decisive step virtually wiped out the health threat."

When our government agencies gets involved with anything, never expect the best. Look how we can travel out of country for cancer treatments that we can't get here.

But remember they were also plagued with mad cow disease and we weren't.

Good point. They allowed brain and spinal tissue into cattle food, which the US didn't. They learned from us, maybe we will from them.
I'd still practice good sanitation.

You can eat raw chicken in the US if you source properly.

Now, having eaten raw chicken, the question I would pose is, why? It's not an easy texture.
