Not to be confused with a Smoke House.

A few weeks ago I asked for some suggestions on winterizing a smoker.

This one

See thread here.

Well I had some great suggestions including making it a "little house". This was not a project I had time for but I knew that was the right thing to do. So I worked out a plan to make a little house I could take apart in the Spring and put back together in Fall.

So here it is.

OK so the flying pig is tucked away in her little house. Now that it is done I know a few things I would do differently but overall I think it will work fine and the things I would do differently I can change when I take it apart.

Does it have a roof and not just the tarp on top?

Is that going to be a problem?

Yes it has a plywood top. I just thought the tarp would help in the spring when everything starts to melt.

Good work! Down here in Florida I know we just can't appreciate a real winter but I had a great friend from the UP that described summer as "2 weeks of bad sleddin". Always left an impression.

Just making sure you had something more substantial than a tarp to support the rain and snow.

Good work!

Looks good. Next year you may have to go to gusseted roof next year. I am not sure how much snowfall you have there but since it is Minnesota, I figure it would be relatively high. I would hate to see the roof give way under a big snowfall on that beautiful smoker!

Great idea and great build. I love that you made it modular so you can take it down every spring. Great idea!

Great Idea that will protect that beautiful cooker for that harsh winter, sucks you have to leave her behind.

That looks very cool. Any way a critter, like a mouse or chipmunk can get in from underneath? Or does that not bother you?

Ric, considering you can't take it with you, this looks like an awesome solution to the problem! Nice goin' :clap2:

So, how are you going to use it all closed into that box?
