Philly to Ft Myers FL BBQ Crawl

Going to wander down to Ft Myers week of Sept 8th passing thru Maryland, Virginia, North and South Carolina, Georgia. Looking for some recommendations for BBQ joints along the way. Got plenty of time to eat my way down. What do y'all suggest. Thanks

Roanoke Rapids exit off of 95s just as you get into North Cakalacky. They have a buffet that is bumpin or you can get chopped or sliced on a bun. Traditional Eastern NC Q with vinegar and red pepper. OR....get off 95 and head south and look for the smoke shacks all the way down.....u cant go wrong!

In Philadelphia you have Sweet Lucy's BBQ, I have been there about a dozen time in the past year. It's good food, but one time I guess I hit them on an off day, sort of hit or miss.

In Cherry Hill, NJ there is Whole Hog BBQ, good food but a lack of choices on sides.

Lexington, N.C. stop at Lexington BBQ. Pork shoulder and a Cheerwine....Good stuff.

If you are going to be in VA, I would definitely stop at Q in Midlothian (near Richmond). Its run by Tuffy Stone and one of the best meals I've eaten.
