ash wood?

I find myself with 8 trees worth of ash logs courtesy of the borer, haven't seen many references to using it as smoker fuel - will it work on its own or does it need to be combined with other wood or is it no good????

I've heard of others smoking with ash, especially in European countries.

Used it a few times. It's fine in stick burners...wouldn't chunk it for charcoal cookers

Yep, I've used a lot of it. It's a pretty dense wood, burns hot and is a good heat source and coal bed builder, I use pecan or oak on top of it for smoke.:-D
