Full Fledged Farker
Picked it up from Carole and Doug Ritter..great folks-tons of experience and insight. Got home at 1pm saturday and got at it.
First was putting extra racks. Talked to Backwoods and they told me what metal size to use so that I could use their racks. Note, 1in angle iron at 1/4" will actually work..ran out of 3/4 "and had to use it on the top rack. no pics of that, but I now have 8 total rack positions(im thinking tons of jerky one day).
Before leaving made an omlet from a fattie
Home
materials
bottle opener..see base mount on last pics..located on the left corner of the shelf
Start
Sunday...behind schedule...had folks coming over at 7pm for dinner...so it was crunch time!
This is as far as I could get...ran out of metal for the handle..time to season and cook. notice the weight makes it balance lower on the right as its not centered
Overcooked this stuff(falling off the bone),but no one complained I was really happy with the mean bark
great amount of smoke..some of the best chicken I've had...it was my favorite..justvused a bit of john henry wing rub.
to balance the cart..I installed a "lift" on the right hand tires to elevate that side.
added shelf,see bottle opener mount
before paint. see failed smoker drum project i gave up on in the background
added a bit of Texas flair on the bottom and painted( brush rustoleum)...done for now. Will touch up corners with spray paint tomorrow and post better outdoor pics. Pics show paint wet...wont be so glossy
Also, this is missing the bottom grate..Will store my extra racks on the bottom of the smoker
