I have wanted a wifi thermometer since they have been available but am too cheap to fork over the bucks for one. I have a Maverick and an Igrill2 and they have served me well but I cook on one side of the road and spend a lot of time on the other side. So what to do? Well, it finally occurred to me, I also have some webcams. Yes, wifi thermometer by proxy. So now I set the Maverick receiver or an idevice (old 4S) in front of a camera and I can monitor temps from anywhere with my phone. It works and uses what I've got. You might have that same capability.
