Going to smoke some chicken for Sunday dinner. Have you soaked in buttermilk? I am going to try this for this smoke.
 
I use a salt/sugar brine for chicken before smoking or grilling, but I do like buttermilk soak before pan frying.
 
I do all of my chicken in a salt water brine, can I ask what is the reasoning and expectations of using buttermilk instead of, I'm assuming, a salt water base.
