Does grilling shellfish stink up your grill?

I had grilled oysters at a new French bistro by me and want to grill oysters at home now.

I never grilled shellfish before because I’m concerned about the liquor spilling and stinking up the grill. Anyone have that happen, or am I worrying about nothing. I only hose my grill out once a year.

Perhaps I can grill them in a disposable aluminum pan.

Here is what they served, they were very good.

If they're big enough to straddle the grill you don't need a pan. Handle them with gloves instead of tongs so they don't spill. Smaller ones should go in a pan. Some people put a bed of rice or rock salt under them to keep them level. It only takes a few minutes.

I do them on the kettle. Usually the ash acts as a drying agent for anything that spills and I've never noticed an after smell.

I've grilled oytsters occasionally on my BGE, and shrimp in regular rotation. No issues with it funking it up.
