Creekstone Farms

Thanks for pre answering my trimming question. Just ordered 10. Can't believe they were still available. As others said, you are the main reason for me ordering :thumb:

You'll like it Joe! Glad you got some because they tend to go real fast.

Never had Duroc or Creekstone - w/ the extra 10% off I'm in for 10 racks. Looking forward to some special meals w/ friends and family again this summer.

Ordered 10, but wish I had known about the additional coupon. I have ordered them before but on the previous deal when you could buy 12.

Thanks for the tip Greg.

I just ordered the 2x of the special on the Duroc racks. I am looking forward to cooking these on Memorial Day. Thanks for the heads up.

Ack. So tempting. Not sure how much re-arranging I'd have to do to get those to fit in the freezer...and I'm out of town all next week ) =

Do they have a physical store? It would actually be a minimal detour to get to their posted address in a few weeks.

Justin, Creekstone Farms is a packing plant on the north side of Arkansas City. They are owned by a firm in Japan. The plant does not have a physical store but there is a specialty meat market in downtown Arkansas City that carries some Creekstone meat.

I've picked up creekstone steaks there while on a camping trip.

Good luck! :-D

I ordered the spares the same day HogGrog posted...they arrived today packaged nicely and still frozen. Can't wait to smoke them.

Ok - I just got my order. Unlike Pife, mine were not nicely frozen. I would say they were 25% frozen. I’m not in favor of a thaw/re-freeze. So what are my options?

I just received my ribs and they arrived mostly thawed.

The ribs only sat on my shaded front porch for 5 minutes. The ice packs were all on one side of the cooler and the ribs furthest from them were entirely thawed.

The ends of those ribs were at 42 and 44 degrees, the center at 35 degrees. I put them in the freezer immediately.

I think that should be okay, maybe? Thoughts?

Everything I have previously ordered from CF has arrived well packaged and frozen.

I got my package at the door before the UPS driver got back to his truck. Wife threw them in the freezer also, what do you think about the thaw refreeze effect? Is this normal for Creekstone?

I don’t like to thaw meat and re-freeze it seems to lose tenderness. But I’m not cooking them this weekend so they went into the freezer.

I don’t expect that there will be a noticeable difference with a single freeze/thaw cycle.

Previous orders arrived frozen or mostly frozen and very well-packaged, so no, this has not been normal for me.

I emailed CF about the surface temperature of a couple of racks being over 40 degrees upon arrival and am awaiting a response.

You guys will be fine. They're packed well with the ice packs expected to last the duration of delivery. They're plenty cold inside so technically not fully thawed. I've received a few packages like that from CF and all have been fine.

I agree, they should be fine and I look forward to them.

They were not packaged to their normal standards from my experience. All ice on one side of cooler and the two furthest racks were floppy (but cold), the others stiff (and colder).

I have never had a bad experience with CF and don’t consider this to be one either!:thumb:
