I've never been a soup fan.....but when my mother made split pea soup, I couldn't get enough of it!! She used smoked ham hocks and pieces of ham. At the end of the cook, removed the meat from the bone, chopped it up and added it back. She never told me how to make it, so I will be saving your recipe. Thanks for sharing!:thumb:

navy beans lots of garlic, onions, rotel tomatoes and cajun seasoning. also switch to pinto beans and add swamp fire crab boil .the best part of having ham is the bone.
