Winds approaching 40 with low teens and single digit windchills today. Going to make a pot of Viagra Stew and light a hickory wood fire in the fireplace. My Viagra stew is pretty basic. Go to store and buy every deep colored veggie/fruit/root- mix with whatever meat you want and simmer.
Red and Yellow Bell Peppers
Hatch or Pueblo Green Chile
Cilantro/Oregano red pepper flakes pink Himalayan salt etc
Purple potatoes
Eggplant
Purple carrot
Small turnip/rutabaga whichever has darkest band
Black garlic
Red onion
Purple cabbage
Tomatoes (maybe)
Pork Beef Sausage Chicken etc
Black Rice
Baby portobello
Chicken/Beef Stock or make your own with oxtails or thighs(or both)

Sounds good! Interesting name. Did I miss the memo... is there something special about this stew that you have discovered?

https://www.finedininglovers.com/article/35-purple-fruits-and-vegetables-you-should-be-eating

Example: Google “Purple Potato versus white potato”
Insert any fruit/veggie you like in the dark versus white in a google search. I don’t often see purple asparagus nor Brussels but when I do,I stock up. Cranberry Blue and blackberry.
It’s a really interesting way to eat.

Also plan to have a glass of dry red wine with the stew

Ahhh, you're having a blue plate special. :twitch:

Antioxidants and health conscious eaters aside, there some fun facts around food and the color blue.... It can actually suppress your appetite, which in some cases can be a good thing. Modern day studies have resulted in some dietary plans calling for eating off of a blue plate, or using lighting with a blue hue in your dining room. During the depression the blue plate special (dinner for a dime kind of thing) became popular in diners because it was an inexpensive yet hardy meal often served on a divided plate to control portions. Little did they know back then that the blue plate could have had an effect on appetites.

Chopped-Seasoned and roasting. Black Rice in the Instant Pot. Definitely going with smoke Duroc Pork and Texas Beef Sausage. Black ice on the patio. That wouldn’t be fun at all

Looks like it came out great! I could use a good hearty bowl of stew right about now, and I'd gladly hit that
