David and his crew really took care of us the whole weekend - this was a true cooks contest. We loved the format of the shootout. It was great to see organizers from other contests and old friends pitching in (April Hepko from Seymour and Grant from Hardway BBQ). Getting a call in ribs on Saturday was the icing on the cake. Great way to start our year. Got our best chicken score ever with a 175 which only garnered a 16th place on Sunday. That weather made it the most challenging cook I've ever experienced. Congrats to all who walked.

Amen to that! Amazing to score over 170 and get 31st.

The weather was brutal! The great food was not mine -- I was glad to turn in 4 boxes with edible bbq...

That was a rough one -- no doubt. Amazing scores but kind of expected that with the teams that were there. I was glad to make it through with just an awning tear. Some teams weren't so lucky
