Smoked pork two ways today with the help of my sous chef (aka, 12 yr old son).

First was a breakfast fatty. Bacon weave, pork sausage, lemon poppy bread, fresh blueberries, maple syrup, and brown sugar spice rub.

Second was a butterflied pork loin, shredded cheese, Italian sausage, stuffing, spice rub, and finished with a brown sugar and cherry whiskey glaze. We meant to put cream cheese inside too but didn’t remember until after tying it all up.

Nicely done, Pete & Son!

You give those lovely spices of breakfast fatty a quick sear in a skillet or some such? I know we'd crush a couple slices each with some scrambled eggs.

Great to see the next generation involved and learning culinary skills.

Nice job on the rolled and smoked pork. Especially since your son has an interest as well

The food looks great, but the best part is doing it with your son. I love cooking with my daughter and no matter how it turns out, we had fun creating it. Well done!
