Peppery Lime Steak Sandwich w/Garlic Basil Mayo, Caramelized Onions & Slaw

Went to the local grocery store yesterday and they had a bunch of beef (Skirt Steaks, Flank Steaks & Flat Iron Steaks) marked down to 50% off.

:shock:

After filling my freezer, I left one out to make for dinner tonight.

Here is a 1.75lb (inside) Skirt Steak

Seasoned well with Naturiffic Peppery Lime Gourmet Salt and let sit for about 1.5 hours, effectively letting the spices in the salt bloom and the salt to do its thing on the meat.

Had an adult beverage

Cut up some onions, put them in a pan with some olive oil and seasoned them with Naturiffic Peppery Lime to caramelize.

While the onions were cooking down on the stove top I went and fired up the Cue-Grill.

Here is the skirt steak after sitting for 1.5 hours.

While the meat was resting, I made up some Garlic Basil Mayo and some slaw, then put the baguettes in the oven to toast.

Sliced the skirt steak

Spread the Garlic Basil Mayo on the toasted baguette, covered it with slices of skirt steak and topped with caramelized onions and slaw

Oh, momma... that looks good.

I am mildly amused at your beer glass shaped like a can in-which you poured your beer from a bottle.

I normally use skirt for fajitas, this was the first time making a sammy out of it...but wont be the last!
