Full disclosure. I've never owned a Traeger nor used Traeger Pellets.
Today while roaming United Supermarket I noticed a Yellow Tag from 100 feet away on the charcoal aisle. Sauntered down that way and found the Yellow Tag under Traeger Pellets Hickory/Maple blend. Regular $30 YT'd at $5.99. Five bags on the shelf so took two bags. May be great, may not. I own the decision to buy and try.

In the past Traeger was known to use oils to provide flavor to the pellets rather than using the actual wood. For example, they used hickory oil to provide hickory flavor rather than using actual hickory wood.

Not sure if they still follow that practice or not. I have never used Traeger pellets because of that.
